Reminder from Scholarshipages: Petronas provides sponsorship, but not scholarship.
"What is the difference?" you may ask, and here is the answer from Scholarshipages:

Malaysia's national oil company, Petronas sponsors, or funds a student until the student has completed his or her studies within a certain time frame. The biggest difference Petronas and other scholarship provider organizations is, Petronas will convert its sponsorship into scholarship for you only after you met the study requirements and will be serving Petronas within 6-10 years depends on the subjects taken. If you do not pass through Petronas's job interview and do not successfully work in Petronas, you will have to pay back everything to Petronas including the accomodation fees, tuition fees, and etc.

PETRONAS invites applications from outstanding candidates to pursue undergraduate programmes in various technical and non-technical courses disciplines at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS or foreign universities/ branch campuses in Malaysia.

To qualify, you must have sat for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination in 2010 and achieved excellent results. You must also demonstrate strong personal qualities such as leadership, drive and teamwork. Shortlisted candidates will undergo the PETRONAS EduQuest Camp for final selection.
